On October 2, HEAF hosted its 2013 Annual Benefit Dinner to raise funds to support its mission of providing after-school summer and weekend programs to empower underserved New York City students to pursue and obtain a college education. We’re proud to say that through generous contributions from the HEAF community, we were able to raise over $1.2 million.
The High School and College graduation was held on May 29, 2013 at 6 p.m. at Trattoria Dopo Teatro. 19 of the high school graduates and 7 college graduates were present. President and CEO, Ruth Rathblott, welcomed students and families and gave students two pieces of advice: challenge yourself, take different classes and connect with professors.
Over 30 students attended this year’s HEAF Winter Conference, held January 3rd-5th. Each year, current HEAF college freshmen and sophomore students return to HEAF in January for a 3-day conference that includes workshops on character development, academic planning, and career exploration.
